I relish the experience of the wax –
painting, heating, scraping – exposing texture and color put down layers ago.
I am an archaeologist, excavating
pieces that unmask me – giving way to my vulnerability – presenting clues that vindicate my journey.
The surfaces of my work beg to be touched – to be viewed from afar, from up close, and with eyes closed.
My pieces offer a reprieve, a moment to breathe, a safe place to loose yourself within the layers –
to journey to places both physically and emotionally – to a memory or to a dream –
to those special places that offer love, understanding and forgiveness.
